In preparation for the Bradetich Foundation International Solo Competition, Nina will be presenting a recital in Portland, OR. The program will be a diverse representation of what the bass can do in the modern age, featuring works by Bach, Marais, and Misek alongside an assortment of funkier works by Edgar Meyer, Mark Dresser, Thelonius Monk, and many others.
This will be our final show from a series that we are performing in various venues around Portland this spring. Laura Ha, a fantastic violinist from the Oregon Symphony, will be joining me in a number of works that blur the boundaries between classical, bluegrass, and tango music. TeSóAria will be hosting us in their lovely tasting room in North Portland.
I am so excited to collaborate with the incredibly talented Laura Ha for three shows this spring! Enso Winery will be hosting us in their "barrel room", which is an unconventional space with great acoustics. We'll be playing several challenging, yet inviting pieces that fuse the worlds of classical, bluegrass, and tango, including works by Edgar Meyer, Mark O'Connor, and Astor Piazzolla.
